Threat to SM Entertainment employees: A 28-year-old man threatened to kill nine SM Entertainment employees after he felt rejected by a member of the girl group.

On August 11, police arrested A, 28, for threatening and obstructing business. According to reports, “A” posted death threats to nine random SM Entertainment employees in a controversial online community.

SM Entertainment employees were left in danger when an unknown man threatened to kill them. According to Korean media, the man threatened nine SM Entertainment employees, assuming he was rejected by a member of the girl group. SM Entertainment has produced many girl groups, including S.E.S, Girls’ Generation, f(X), Red Velvet, and aespa. However, it is not known which member of the girl group this man had a crush on.

Threat to SM Entertainment employees: Who is he?

The man allegedly tried to contact the idol through direct messages online and assumed she rejected him. This situation made him act impulsively.

According to the police, he tried to get close to the idol several times. However, after being refused, he planned how he would carry out the threats in the last day, which included different ways and situations. They added that he even prepared what he would say to the police.

He was said to have been a fan of the girl group member for 17 years and told police he became enraged and impulsively wrote death threats after she failed to respond to several private messages. Police said: “The suspect said that he tried to befriend the idol several times, but when he did not respond, he became angry. The suspect wrote D-day while he is going through his death threats and planning what he would write there. His threat, which included several different the situation and how he would react to the police.”

The death threats followed another mass shooting in South Korea that left 14 people hospitalized. The police are said to be taking the situation seriously as they do not believe that A’s threats were impulsive, but rather planned plans.
