Many students have returned to school, and it doesn’t appear that the weather will ease off anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have a great time in The Woodlands! Here is a list of our top five recommendations. Friday, August 11

Grab a companion and head to The BLVD Boutique to shop for a good cause! The BLVD, located on FM 2978 to the west of The Woodlands, has incredible home décor, clothing, and jewelry, in addition to the cutest wine and coffee bar! Twenty percent of profits will be donated to Interfaith of The Woodlands. Such events are essential to Interfaith’s mission of fostering a more nurturing and compassionate community through service. Taking place between 11 and 2 p.m.

Friday, August 11

Tonight at 6 p.m., Bayway Cadillac will host Wine and Food Week’s annual Platinum Wine Vault Luxury Tasting. Guests will be transported, via senses and a virtual passport, to wines from around the globe as well as culinary masterpieces inspired by award-winning chefs. The Platinum Wine Vault Luxury Tasting is an oasis filled with the finest wine selections served in “the big glass” amidst a luxurious playground and the who’s who of the wine industry. Spring’s Holcomb Family YMCA, located at 5201 Imperial Promenade, will host the 2nd Annual YMCA Duathlon – YMCA Kids Triathlon Summer Race Series presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands. Youth between the ages of 7 and 15 are eligible to participate in triathlon. This morning of amicable competition and physical activity can lead to lifelong fitness. The event is suitable for all skill levels. No prior experience is required. Run plus bike equals FUN. There are nine age divisions for the competition: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 years. Boys and girls will compete in distinct age brackets. Each age group’s best three male and female finishers will receive a special award. Each participant will receive a goodie package, T-shirt, and medal for completing the race.

Sunday, 13 August

It is the final stop for Dosey Doe – The Big Barn. Don’t worry! The Woodlands institution is not leaving; instead, it is hosting the band End of the Line’s Allman Brothers Tribute Show. The doors will open at 5:30 so that you can enjoy a delectable three-course dinner, and then the ensemble will perform the timeless tunes of Gregg, Duane, and the rest.
