Tori Bowie Obituary: The sprinter from the United States died last month at her residence in Florida, as the autopsy reveals in heartbreaking detail. According to the autopsy, Olympic and world champion sprinter Tori Bowie gave birth at home and passed away.
In May, a 32-year-old woman was found dead in her Florida residence after the local sheriff’s office went to “check on a woman’s well-being who had not been seen or heard from in several days.”
USA Today obtained the autopsy report, which stated: “Possible complications Bowie had included respiratory distress and eclampsia, when a person develops seizures following a sudden spike in high blood pressure during pregnancy.”
Although the news of her death stunned the sport in early May, the cause of her demise was only recently revealed. At the time of her death, she was eight months expectant, and the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that she was about to give birth.
Bowie won the 100-meter silver, the 200-meter bronze, and the 4100-meter relay gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The following year, he won the 100-meter and 4100-meter world championships in London.
