The Facebook post said, “Wyatt’s kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by all who loved him. We are grateful for the short time we had him in our lives. The lasting impact of his presence will forever be in our hearts.”

Murphy was an eleventh-grader at East Laurens and was a football player. As stated by the BC Royal Touchdown Club, his team number was 36.

The Club said, “Wyatt’s kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by all who loved him. It is during times like these that you have to lean on one another for strength.”

Murphy enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and working on his family’s estate, according to his obituary. His athletic prowess was also fondly recalled by others.

“When Wyatt was born, the doctors remarked on how large his shoulders were and predicted he would make an outstanding football player in the future,” the obituary stated. At East Laurens High School, Wyatt was extremely enthusiastic about participating in football, wrestling, and baseball. We shall perpetually value the guidance and affection bestowed upon him by his instructors.”

The day of his funeral was Tuesday. The family would rather that contributions be made to East Laurens High School Football rather than Murphy.
