Trump Birthday Parade: Washington, D.C. is getting ready for a big celebration this weekend. The White House is throwing a large parade to honor the 250th birthday of the United States Army. This special event also happens to fall on former President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.

The U.S. Army was first created way back on June 14, 1775, a full year before the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. It all started as the Continental Army, and now, 250 years later, the country is marking the occasion with a day full of events, speeches, and a major military parade.

Event Schedule: Saturday, June 14, 2025

  • 9:30 am – 12:30 pm — Fitness Competition and Awards

The streets have been busy all week with preparations. Large military tanks have been moved into place, and the whole area around the White House is being cleaned and set up for visitors and officials.

The celebration will start early on Saturday, June 14. Things kick off in the morning at 9:30 with a fitness competition and an award ceremony. Then, later in the evening at 6:30, the parade will begin. It will include military vehicles, marching groups, and displays showing the long history of the Army.

Trump will give a speech during the celebration. While the timing are not confirmed yet, organizers shared that he will deliver his speech at some point during the day. The group promoting the event, 250.org, had announced earlier that Trump would take the stage, and many supporters are planning to attend.

Tensions Rise with Protests

But even with the celebrations, not everyone is feeling festive. The event comes at a tense time for the country. In the Middle East, Israel has just carried out an attack on Iran. The U.S. said it was told about the attack ahead of time but insists it didn’t help in any way. That news has added more stress to the current global situation.

Back at home, protests are growing against the Trump administration’s decisions. People are upset about recent ICE raids and about how Trump used the National Guard and sent Marines into Los Angeles, even though local leaders, including the police chief, the mayor, and Governor Gavin Newsom, all said they were against it. A group calling themselves “No Kings” plans to protest the parade. Even though no official protest permit has been filed in the capital, people still expect demonstrations to pop up during the event.

Earlier this week, Trump gave a warning to anyone planning to protest. He said anyone who tries to cause trouble at the parade will face “very heavy force.” Security will likely be tight throughout the day, with both local police and federal officers watching for any problems.
