Tua Tagovailoa Weight Gain Has Raised New Concerns: Why Has It Raised New Concerns?

According to Good Morning Football's Cameron Wolfe, the quarterback has acquired weight and added a few new facets to his game

Tua Tagovailoa Weight Gain Has Raised New Concerns: The catastrophic injury sustained by Tua Tagovailoa has remained one of the most memorable images of the 2022 NFL season. The quarterback has taken precautions in preparation for the forthcoming season to prevent a repeat performance.

According to Good Morning Football’s Cameron Wolfe, the quarterback has acquired weight and added a few new facets to his game. Wolfe expressed it thus:

Last year’s final months were difficult for him due to injuries, but he has returned as a different player. He has gained significant musculature. I’ve been told that 8 to 10 pounds of muscle. He is practising jujitsu and testing a new headgear. However, we will not know if he remains healthy until the end of the year.

Tua Tagovailoa Weight Gain Has Raised New Concerns

Obviously, the quarterback’s weight gain poses a new set of concerns. The first issue is whether or not adding weight to one’s frame can protect the brain and skull from the inside. Although convenience prevails supreme, the consequences of obesity cannot be ignored.

Adding weight, particularly if it is muscular, could slow down the quarterback. Another cause for concern is the ease with which muscle can be converted to fat. If a person is acclimated to seeing a higher number on the scale, they may fail to notice that adding a couple cheeseburgers sets them back if they maintain their current weight.

Due to the subtle nature of the changes, they may be neglected until it is too late. The scale is the simplest method to prevent weight gain, and living on the wrong side of the scale is a serious issue.

Russell Wilson’s Weight Gain Is a Warning Sign for Tua Tagovailoa

Tagovailoa would not be the first NFL player to gain weight with the intention of appearing better but end up looking worse as a result. Eddie Lacy, Leonard Fournette, and Russell Wilson are among the most well-known or notorious examples of poor seasons following weight gain.

Wilson’s weight loss was the greatest improvement this offseason, outside of Sean Payton. Even during a press conference, he acknowledged the shift.
