UP Teacher Recruitment: No case was filed against 50 per cent fake teachers

The STF had given instructions to register an FIR by handing over a list of 176 fake teachers working in 35 districts. These teachers are accused of embezzlement of government money by getting jobs in council schools on the basis of fake mark sheets and appointment letters. Along with the FIR, their arrest and recovery of government money is also to be done. Of these, less than half, ie 87 teachers, have been FIRs registered so far. In other cases, no initiative has been taken by the department. As a result, the fake teachers took advantage of the moratorium and emptied their salary and other accounts. What is the case?

In the list of 176 fake teachers who were handed over to the BSAs of 35 districts of the state by ADG STF on May 30, 2022, many have worked for 15 to 20 years. Director General School Education Vijay Kiran Anand has expressed displeasure by writing a letter to all 35 BSAs for not getting the FIR registered even after one month of getting the list of STF. Referring to the letter of ADG STF, he has said that all of you have not yet sent the information by registering an FIR. Even if FIR has been registered, then report has not been sent. He directed all the BSAs to immediately register the FIR and send the information. Even after this, there was no case against 89 fake teachers. For this, BSA is putting the ball in BEO’s court.

Most fake teachers in Gorakhpur-Basti division

Gorakhpur and Basti Mandal have the highest number in the list of fake teachers. There are 45 fake teachers in Gorakhpur division and 36 in Basti mandal. It is followed by Prayagraj division with Lucknow-25, Gonda-21, Azamgarh-16 and 11 cases respectively. 7 in Varanasi division, 5 in Agra division, 4 in Kanpur division, 3 in Ayodhya division, 2 in Mirzapur division and one fake teacher have been identified in Bareilly division. In Gorakhpur division too, maximum 25 cases are from Deoria and Basti Basti division has maximum 23 teachers from Basti. So far, FIR has been registered against maximum 17 teachers in the state in Basti.

Some cases in court

There is a stay from the court in some cases of fake teachers. Of these, one case each is from Gorakhpur, Kushinagar and Unnao. Unnao’s BSA says that a case was registered against fake teacher Santosh Singh. He got the stay from the court. Teaching now.
