Saturday, the actress told the “Independent” that she considers him and director Chris McQuarrie to be “sort of two uncles” and not a romantic interest.
Atwell, who is 41 years old, stated over the weekend that the “weird [romance] rumours” made her feel “dirty” and “grubby.”
She explained, “That’s not my focus…. Why are assumptions and projections being made about my relationship with my coworkers and supervisor?”
Atwell, who became engaged to composer Ned Wolfgang Kelly in April, called the reports “upsetting” and “invasive” because “it’s involving people in my actual life, my personal life, who have to be on the receiving end of that.”

She and the 61-year-old actor ignited dating rumours for the first time in late 2020, when a source told The Sun that they “clicked instantly” while filming “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part 2.”
Despite the fact that they were discussed, they maintained a low profile. However, when they attended the Wimbledon finals together in July of the following year, it sparked renewed interest in them.
