Young will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. It has also prevented him from participating in Washington’s training camp and the first half of the 2022 campaign.

Young had ACL reconstruction surgery conducted by sports surgeon James Andrews in November. According to the Washington Post, surgery differs from a conventional repair in the following ways:

How Soon Will Chase Young Return?

According to the Post, the Commanders placed Young on the Reserve/PUP list on August 23. This is a classification for regular-season players who are expected to forego time.
