What Happened To Timothy Wiltsey? Where is Michelle Lodzinski Now?

It took the police over two decades to apprehend the person they believed murdered him, who is now free.

What Happened To Timothy Wiltsey: Timothy Wiltsey vanished in the early 1990s, and his death remains a mystery despite the possibility that his corpse was discovered. It took the police over two decades to apprehend the person they believed murdered him, who is now free.

The disappearance of young Timothy Wiltsey is one of these mysteries that holds our attention. In this article, we delve into the query that continues to haunt us: what happened to Timothy Wiltsey?

Who is Timothy Wiltsey?

Timothy Wiltsey, age 5, attended kindergarten at St. Mary’s Elementary School in South Amboy, New Jersey. He was born on August 6, 1985, and his complexion is pale brown.

Mary Ellen Quirk, a former school nurse at St. Mary’s, described him as “very quiet and shy, but friendly, a very sweet little boy, and very healthy,” as reported by NJ.com.

What Happened To Timothy Wiltsey?

On May 25, 1991, Michelle Lodzinski, Timothy’s mother at the time, reported him missing to the police. She claimed that he departed around 7:30 p.m. when she turned her back to purchase a soda at the local funfair.

The police shut down the funfair immediately and searched for the absent child until 2:00 a.m. without success. A few hours later, the search was resumed but yielded the same results.

The day after Timothy went missing, the search was terminated, but the authorities continued to investigate his disappearance. After his mother changed her story multiple times, they began to concentrate on her as the most improbable suspect.

She reported leaving her son with a woman named Ellen, whom she recognised from work, a small girl, and two males while she went to purchase a soda.

When she was questioned a second time, she claimed that one of the men who were purportedly with Ellen had threatened her child while holding her at knifepoint.

Her claims were contradictory, and the discovery of Timothy’s skeleton in April 1992 provided no substantiation of what occurred. An arrest was not made until August 2014, after the investigation ultimately ceased.

Michelle, age 46, was arrested and charged with murdering Timothy on August 6, 2014, more than two decades after his demise. The primary piece of evidence at the trial was an infant blanket discovered with Timothy’s remains.

Michelle has always denied any involvement in her son’s demise, but a jury found her guilty of first-degree murder in May 2016. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Where is Michelle Lodzinski at Present?

Michelle’s attorneys petitioned the court for a reversal of the verdict or a new trial, arguing that the prosecution’s case lacked adequate evidence.

According to NJ.com, her attorney also claimed that a mistrial should have been declared when it was discovered that the jury foreman was conducting online research.

This juror was dismissed, and the courts ultimately denied the defense’s request. In December 2021, the New Jersey Supreme Court voted 4-3 to overturn the conviction after concluding that there was insufficient evidence.

Michelle, now 54 years old, was released on December 28, 2021, after serving five years in prison.

“I’m relieved and extremely appreciative to everyone who assisted me and stood by my side to get me home to my family and friends. Michelle stated at the time, “I want to return home to see my children.”

She has avoided the media and the public eye since her release from prison.
