Everyone on TikTok is talking about the issue involving the well-known baby gear manufacturer Kyte Baby. Ying Liu, the inventor of Kyte Baby, said in two videos that the firm denied a new mother’s request to work remotely while she was caring for her preterm child in the NICU.

Consumers are threatening to boycott the company, and Kyte told TODAY.com in a statement that the employee had “declined” their invitation to return. Kyte Baby sells bamboo-made infant clothing and sleep sacks.

An staffer phoned Marissa at a Texas hospital where Liu’s adopted kid was in the NICU and asked if she could work remotely. Liu gave a negative response and later felt sorrow for her decision.

Monica Lewinsky Controversy: Where is she now?

The Kyte Baby Scandal and the Excuses

Hi everyone, this is Ying. Liu apologised profusely to Marissa for the way her parental leave was handled and conveyed during her amazing adoption and family-starting adventure. The video, which received two million views, was uploaded on January 18 to Kyte Baby’s official TikTok account. “I’ve also been attempting to get in touch with her to offer a direct apology.”

Liu stated that Kyte Baby treats both biological and non-biological parents equally and “prides itself on being a family-oriented company.” To “avoid hurting our staff and our community in the future,” Liu apologised to her clients and promised to evaluate Kyte’s personnel practices.

Users of TikTok commented negatively on Liu’s speech, claiming it sounded forced and artificial. Dozens of moms said in recordings that they would no longer be doing business with Kyte, despite having been loyal customers.

Liu issued another apology on social media later that day, saying that her first attempt “wasn’t sincere.” After apologising for the second time, Liu said, “All right, I’ll do this.” “I recently posted an official apology on TikTok. As the commenters correctly noted, it was contrived. I committed it to memory. Since I basically read the script, I’ve decided to depart from it since it wasn’t honest. Liu asserted that she made a “terrible” decision about Marissa’s request.
