Duggar is incarcerated at the federal prison at FCI Seagoville, according to jail records. According to the New York Post, Josh Duggar was found guilty of receiving and having child pornography and was given a 12-and-a-half-year prison sentence.
However, his sentence was later extended by two months. Josh is presently housed at the Texas Federal Correctional Institute. After being discovered in February using a cell phone, he is allegedly being held in solitary prison.
Josh was arrested in April 2021 on one count of possessing child pornography and one count of child pornography. He is presently serving his sentence in federal prison.
The Western District of Arkansas United States Attorney’s Office stated in a press release at the time that “Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of twelve.”
After being granted bail, Duggar entered a not-guilty plea at his arraignment later that month to the counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. In December 2021, he was found guilty on both counts, and the possession conviction was finally overturned.
The former cast member of 19 Kids and Counting was given a prison term of 151 months, or about 12.5 years, in May 2022.
Due to his “prior sexual exploitation of multiple minors” and “the extraordinary efforts Duggar took to obtain and view child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), the nature of the CSAM he obtained and viewed, his efforts to conceal his criminal conduct, and his refusal to take accountability for or acknowledge any of his criminal conduct,” the father of seven was facing up to 20 years in prison, as requested by the prosecution.
Josh’s defense team requested a sentence that is “sufficient, but not greater than necessary.” It cited his never having been charged with or found guilty of a prior crime as justification for a more lenient ruling.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, In Touch was discovered in May 2023; his original stay was prolonged, and his release date was set for October 10, 2032. Due to allegations that he had a cell phone in February 2023 while serving his term, his release was postponed.
On October 2, 2032, Josh will be released from Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Seagoville in Texas, according to internet data that In Touch exclusively validated.
