The Ascent and Descend of Ruby Franke’s Eight Passengers

Ruby Franke was formerly well-known for her YouTube channel, 8 Passengers, where she frequently posted videos about her children, their daily routines, her homemade meals, and other topics. Additionally, her three sisters are known for their YouTube videos.

Franke told the local news station KSL in 2016 that she created the channel so that she could “just enjoy being with the kids as they are right now.”

Prior to its abrupt closure in 2022, the family’s YouTube channel had 2.5 million subscribers. Ruby and her business associate, Jodi Hildebrandt, have since created ConneXions, a service for struggling parents.

Was Ruby Franke Apprehended?

Yes, Ruby was arrested on August 30, 2023, for two counts of severely harming children, also known as ‘aggravated child abuse.’

Ruby Franke was detained today for child abuse (YouTube channel 8 passengers), but the evidence was available online several years ago:

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ruby and her companion Hildebrandt were arrested together. The police say they were arrested because they intentionally harmed minors.

Currently, Ruby and Hildebrandt are still incarcerated, and we do not know the status of their case. On their website, the Sheriff’s Office has not posted any new information.

In 2020, child abuse rumours began to circulate when Ruby’s son Chad was punished for performing pranks and made to sleep on a bean bag. Another time, Ruby neglected to bring her daughter’s lunch to school and therefore did not do so.

The Frankes told Insider in 2020 that they believe in allowing their children make decisions and learn from the results.
