In addition, he served as a juror on the reality television series “Nashville Star” for one year. Robison’s spouse, Kristen Robison, and four children and stepchildren survive him.

His divorce from his first wife, Emily Strayer of The Chicks fame, inspired songs on his 2009 album “Beautiful Day,” which he recorded during a period of his life residing in San Antonio.

Robison told The Associated Press in 2009, “People come up to me and say they’re going through something right now, and it’s like this song was written about them.” “I did not intend to do that, but it was an unintended consequence of the album.”

2013’s rock-sounding “High Life,” Robison’s most recent album, featured a cover of Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece.”
