How Did Terri Ficca Pass Away?

She was 47 years old and lived at Providence Pike, No. Smithfield, Rhode Island. She died on September 24, 2007, at Woonsocket’s Landmark Medical Center. It’s not clear what killed her. She was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony P. Ficca and Dolores (Lefebvre) Ficca of No. Smithfield.

During her childhood, she lived in Woonsocket and finished from high school there in 1978. In 2005, she moved to No. Smithfield.

She graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor’s degree in outdoor activities. After that, she went to Roger Williams University to get her certification to teach elementary school. It was while she was getting her master’s in elementary teaching.

Many kids liked Miss Ficca, who taught first grade at Globe Park School in the Woonsocket School Division. Her friends and students will really miss her. For a long time, she also worked at Eastern Mountain Sports, where she was known for leading talks about outdoor education.

Terri Ficca was a wonderful person and a great teacher from Providence Pike. No. Smithfield was born to Dolores (Lefebvre) Ficca, who is related to No. Smithfield, and the late Anthony P. Ficca, who was a charming guy who helped her a lot as a child.

She did, however, spend most of her time in Woonsocket, where she went to school and graduated from high school in 1978. After she graduated from high school in 2005, she chose to move to No. Smithfield.

She went to college there and got a Bachelor’s degree in outdoor activities from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and an elementary education teaching certificate from Roger Williams University.

Terri Ficca went back to school and got a master’s degree in elementary teaching. A first-grade teacher in the Woonsocket School Department said that Miss Ficca died while she was teaching third grade at Globe Park School. Friends and coworkers of hers really liked her, and she will be missed very much.

You may remember Terri Ficca from her time working at Eastern Mountain Sports. She was praised for the outdoor education workshops she led for the company.

Because Terri was an active person, she loved camping, kayaking, and hiking, which included a lot of the Appalachian Trail. She was a part of the Globe Park Parent Teacher Association, Big Sisters of America, and taught Boy Scouts in the area.

Plus, for 12 years, she taught Woonsocket girls tennis. She also liked playing golf and taking care of her two cats, Maka and Talkeetna. Not only does she leave behind her mother, but also two brothers: Thomas Ficca and his wife Ann Marie of No. Smithfield and Anthony Ficca, II and his wife Janet of Norfolk, VA.

Also left behind are her sister Christine Belisle and her husband Normand, who live in Spring Hill, Florida. ‘T’ also leaves behind Bethany Leduc, Aimee Kenyon, Gary, Melissa, Emily, Robert, and Jacob Ficca, all of whom she loved very much.

After the service at the Holt service Home at 510 So. Main St. on September 29, 2007, there was a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church at 1409 Park Ave. in Woonsocket.

A story from Legacy.com says she was buried in Blackstone, Massachusetts’s St. Charles Cemetery. Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. is the time to call.
