As expected, a volcano near Grindavik erupted, and cameras were ready to record the moment when the two-mile-long crack opened up and let loose all hell.
Based on reports from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, the volcano erupted in Iceland on the Reykjanes peninsula around 10 p.m. local time, after an earthquake around 9 p.m.

Meteorological Office says that webcams can show the explosion, which is said to be happening near Hagafell, about 2 miles north of the town of Grindavík.
