Woman Charged with DUI and Manslaughter After Orange City Collision Claims Motorcyclist’s Life

Woman Charged with DUI and Manslaughter: A tragic incident occurred in Orange City on Saturday evening, resulting in the apprehension of a woman on suspicion of DUI following a fatal motorbike accident. Christine Robison, a 61-year-old DeBary resident, was driving her four-door Lexus out of a local bar’s parking lot at approximately 10:46 p.m., according to the Orange City Police Department.

Her vehicle collided with a motorbike travelling northbound in the inside lane on U.S. 17-92 (N Volusia Avenue) when she was travelling northbound in the opposite direction. According to a news release, the 37-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Justin Evans, was ejected from the motorcycle and tragically pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital. Christine Robison emerged from the collision remarkably unharmed.

Three minutes after receiving the emergency contact, the police and firefighters of Orange City arrived. They made contact with Robison after observing “signs of possible impairment” on her part, prompting a DUI investigation. Robison was consequently apprehended and is now facing charges of DUI and DUI manslaughter.
