$1000 Stimulus Payment Claim: Before the deadline, people are urged to apply for the state’s property tax/rent rebate program, according to Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity. Refund recipients who include a phone number on their application will receive notifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue when their claim is processed and once more when it is granted.
Applicants must fulfill certain requirements to be eligible for the rebate: they must be 65 years of age or older, widows or widowers 50 years of age or older, or people with disabilities 18 years of age or older. Their yearly income must also be less than $45,000.

By inputting their Social Security number, claim year, and date of birth into the “Where’s My Rebate” tool, recipients can monitor the progress of their rebate.
Some factors determine the maximum standard rebate of $650. Supplementary rebates, however, have the potential to raise this sum to $1,000. Residents must reapply for the rebate every year, which is dependent on their ability to pay rent or property taxes and their current income.
Applications must be submitted by June 30th for the Treasury Department to begin issuing rebates to qualified applicants on July 1st.
“Many more Pennsylvanians are eligible for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program this year because the General Assembly and the Governor made the smart decision to expand the program,” stated Treasurer Garrity.

“I urge everyone who qualifies to apply as soon as possible. The law permits Treasury to start making payments as early as July 1. After that, Treasury will make payments based on a rolling schedule.
“This essential program makes a huge difference for so many, including older Pennsylvanians and those living with disabilities, and I’m committed to getting these payments out as quickly as possible once applicants are approved by the Department of Revenue.”
