Pennsylvania $1000 Stimulus Payment: Pennsylvania has a special program to help homeowners and renters with their property or rent taxes. This program is especially for seniors, widows, widowers, and people with disabilities who need extra financial help. Those who qualify can get up to $1,000 to help with the costs.

The program was created to support older adults and those with disabilities. Eligible individuals must meet certain income requirements to qualify. The state’s lottery and gambling funds provide the money for this important assistance.

Pennsylvania $1000 Stimulus Payment: Deadline Extended for Applications

Governor Josh Shapiro’s administration recently announced that the deadline to apply for this rebate has been extended to December 31, 2025. This means more seniors and people with disabilities have a chance to apply and get this help. Residents can send their applications by mail, apply online, or submit them in person. The original deadline was June 30, but now they have more time to apply.

Support for Older Adults

At an event held at the West Shore Senior Center in Cumberland County, state officials made the formal announcement about the extended deadline. Jason Kavulich, the Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging, spoke about the importance of this program. He said, “Affordable housing continues to be a central concern for our older adults. This program allows more people to remain in their homes and remain active members of their communities.”

The program has had a big impact. Last year, over 522,000 rebates were given out, totaling more than $319 million. This is a big increase from 2022 when only 405,000 rebates were distributed. The difference is due to the expansion of the program, which was pushed by Governor Shapiro with support from both political parties.

More Applications in 2025

So far in 2025, nearly 400,000 applications have been received, which already surpasses the number of applications at the same time last year. The state expects around 41,000 more people to apply as part of this new phase of the program.

This extension gives more eligible people the chance to apply and get the support they need.
