1300 Stimulus Payment Status: How to Determine if You’ll Receive a Direct Tax Rebate Payment

Minnesota Department of Revenue reissued 128,000 expired tax refund cheques, redistributing nearly 2.1 million Direct Tax Rebate payments, totaling nearly $1 billion.

1300 Stimulus Payment Status: To reissue 128,000 one-time tax refund checks that were uncashed and expired last year, the Minnesota Department of Revenue has taken action. These checks are now good for two years and have been sent to the most recent addresses on file.

Almost 2.1 million Direct Tax Rebate payments totaling almost $1 billion were issued following legislation passed in May 2023. Income tax or property tax refund returns for 2021 were used to determine refund amounts and eligibility.

Payments were first made in August and September, either by direct deposit or paper check. Not cashed checks were reissued in November and December; not claimed checks were reissued once more in February and March.

500 Stimulus Card 2024: When Will Monthly State Benefit Payments Be Made?

The IRS says these refund payments are taxable on federal returns. Sent to each beneficiary is Form 1099-MISC, which has to be utilized for 2023 individual income tax returns in the United States.

The one-time rebate provision gave qualified taxpayers a maximum of $1,300. This comprised an additional $260 for each claimed dependent, up to a maximum of three dependents, and $520 for married couples filing jointly with an adjusted gross income of $150,000 or less. Additionally, there was $260 for all other people with an adjusted gross income of $75,000 or less.

1300 Stimulus Payment Status: Who is qualified to receive the money?

You must fulfill a few requirements in order to be eligible for the reimbursement. Initially, you had to have lived in Minnesota for all or a portion of 2021. You also had to have turned in the 2021 Form M1, Minnesota Individual Income Tax, or the 2021 Form M1PR, Homestead Credit Refund (for Homeowners) and Rener’s Property Tax Refund before December 31, 2022.

VA Disability Claim Status: Which is the fastest VA claim time?

Your adjusted gross income in 2021 had to be either $150,000 or less for married joint filers or $75,000 or less for all other taxpayers. You also cannot have been shown as dependent on another person’s Minnesota income tax return for 2021.

Taxpayers who died before January 1, 2023, are not eligible for the rebate. Conversely, if an eligible married couple files jointly for 2021 and one of the spouses dies before January 1, 2023, the remaining spouse is entitled to a full refund.
