1400 Stimulus Payment COVID: What is the Eligibility?

Known by its official name, the Recovery Rebate Credit, the $1400 is a tax credit that may be claimed. Eligible individuals can start filing online at GetYourRefund.org and can do so until Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

As previously noted, an IRS tax return for 2021 needs to be submitted. Furthermore, a household’s adjusted gross income (AGI) cannot exceed $75,000 for single filers, $150,000 for joint filers, or $112,500 for head of the household filers.

The highest amount of money that a single person can make is $80,000, a married pair filing jointly is $160,000, and the main home of the couple is $120,000. They are based on what people will make in 2020.

The third stimulus check can be given to any family member with a Social Security number or a dependent, as long as they are a legal U.S. citizen, a legal resident, or a foreigner.

Finally, a person cannot be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return to get the third stimulus check. However, you may file a claim on behalf of a dead person who died no earlier than January 1, 2021.
