$1702 Alaska PFD Payment: Are You Eligible?

Eligible Alaska residents will receive a $1,702 Permanent Fund Dividend this week. The payment includes a traditional dividend and an additional amount. Deposits begin May 15 for eligible applicants.

$1702 Alaska PFD Payment: Many people living in Alaska are feeling excited this week because they are getting another round of money from the Permanent Fund Dividend, also called the PFD. This program gives some of the profits made from oil and gas in the state back to the people who live there. It started in 1982, and ever since then, it has helped Alaskans get extra money every year, especially when the economy feels tough.

In 2025, the payment is $1,702 for each person who qualifies. That is a big increase compared to last year it’s about 30% more. The total money comes in two parts. One part is $1,403.83, which is the usual dividend amount.

Then there is an extra bonus added to it. Officials say the money won’t come to everyone on the same day. It depends on what stage your application is in. If your application is from 2024 or earlier, and it was marked “Eligible-Unpaid” by May 7, 2025, then you should get the money on May 15. That’s what the program’s official site says.

Who Can Get the PFD in Alaska

The Permanent Fund was created way back in 1976. The goal was simple make sure that money made from natural resources like oil could go straight to the people living in Alaska. The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation takes care of managing this money. Every year, they look at how much profit came in and then divide it up for the people.

To qualify for this money, you must have lived in Alaska for the whole year before. You must also plan to stay in Alaska forever. Another rule is that you need to have lived in the state for 12 months straight without applying to live somewhere else. You also have to be physically present in Alaska for at least 72 hours during the last two years. If someone left Alaska for too long or tried to live in another state, they might not qualify.

Why This Money Helps Families and Businesses

This yearly money doesn’t just help individuals it also helps small shops and businesses. When families get their PFD, they often spend it on food, bills, clothes, or even save it for later. That spending helps the local economy grow. In hard times, like when prices go up or jobs become less steady, the PFD gives people something to count on.
