$1,702 Stimulus Payment Coming in May 2025 for Eligible Alaskans: Check If You Qualify

Alaskan people are set to receive a payment of $1,702 in 2025, derived from the state's Permanent Fund Dividend, a revenue-sharing mechanism derived from natural resource earnings.

$1702 Stimulus Payment: Many people in Alaska will get $1,702 in 2025 through the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD). This money isn’t a federal stimulus it comes from Alaska’s oil earnings. The state gives a share of this income to people who live there full-time.

The $1,702 total is based on the 2024 PFD, which includes a $1,403.83 regular payment and a $298.17 energy relief bonus. The state legislature approved the extra help. The amount for 2025 isn’t confirmed yet but is expected to be similar.

$1702 Stimulus Payment: Eligibility

Not everyone gets the payment at the same time. Some people will get their money on May 15, 2025, but only if they already applied before and their status says “Eligible-Not Paid” by May 7, 2025.

Others will get payments later. For example, the next round of payments will happen on June 18 for people who are marked eligible by June 11. These are people who had already applied and are waiting for their payment to be sent.

What You Need to Do to Get The PFD

To receive the PFD in 2025, you must have lived in Alaska the entire year of 2024. You must also plan to stay in Alaska and make it your permanent home. It is not enough just to visit or stay for a few months. You must truly live there. Another rule says that you must have been in Alaska for at least 72 hours in a row in either 2023 or 2024.

If you left Alaska for more than 180 days, you must explain why. But not all reasons are accepted. Good reasons include going to school, getting medical help, or serving in the military.

Some people will not be allowed to get the PFD. If someone had a felony in 2024 or had more than one misdemeanor, then they do not qualify. Also, people who try to apply after March 31, 2025, will not get the payment, even if they meet all the other rules. That deadline is very important.

How To Apply for the PFD?

Each person in the family must apply for the payment, even babies or kids. The application can be done online by going to the website pfd.alaska.gov. People can also use paper forms if they don’t want to apply online.

The state warns that if someone gets a driver’s license from another state, especially one with a REAL ID, that can cause problems with your PFD. It might look like you moved away from Alaska, and that could stop you from getting your money.
