$1,702 Stimulus Payment for Alaska: Good news has finally come for many people living in Alaska. The state is getting ready to send out the next Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) payments. These yearly payments come from a special program that started back in the early 1980s. The idea behind it is simple: share a part of Alaska’s oil money with the people who live there. This year, the amount is $1,702 and it will help thousands of people pay bills, buy what they need, and feel a little less stress about money.
The PFD program is a big deal in Alaska. It gives people a direct benefit from the state’s oil wealth. In August 2025, those who qualify can expect the payment to hit their accounts soon. According to estimates, around 600,000 Alaskans will receive this money. That’s a lot of people getting real help from a program that has been around for decades. For many families, this payment is something they count on each year, especially when the cost of living keeps going up.
Who Can Get This Payment?
To be eligible for the $1,702 stimulus payment, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have been a continuous resident of Alaska for the entire 2023 calendar year.
- Not claim residence or benefits in another state or country
- Have a clean legal record with no felony convictions.
- People must not have been absent from Alaska for more than 180 days during 2023.
The state has also shared the exact date when the money will be sent. If someone applied for the 2024 PFD or earlier, and their application shows “Eligible – Unpaid” by August 13, 2025, then they will get the money on August 21, 2025. So the money is not far off. People should keep an eye on their bank accounts around that time.
Check the Status
If someone hasn’t received their payment yet or wants to check what’s going on with their application, they can do it online. There is a tool called “myPFD” that lets people log in, check their payment status, and even update their address if needed. The state says, “If you electronically signed your PFD application, you can log into ‘myPFD’ and update your address online.” It’s a good idea to check this before the payment date to avoid any issues.
