$2000 Social Security in March: Good news for Social Security beneficiaries in the U.S.! The Social Security Administration has confirmed that a payment of up to $2,000 will be sent out on March 19. This payment will go to retirees, as well as those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).

How Are Payments Sent?

The Social Security Administration sends payments based on the beneficiary’s birth date. Here’s how it works:

  • If you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month, you’ll get your payment on the second Wednesday of the month.
  • If you were born between the 11th and 20th, your payment will arrive on the third Wednesday.
  • If you were born between the 21st and 31st, you’ll receive your payment on the fourth Wednesday.

People who retired before May 1997 and SSI beneficiaries don’t follow this schedule. They get their payments in the first few days of the month.

$2000 Social Security in March: Who will get it?

On March 19, retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month will receive an average payment of $2,000. This is part of the Social Security payment schedule for March. The final payment for the month will go out on March 26 to those born between the 21st and 31st.

The amount each person receives depends on their work history and retirement age. On average, a worker retiring in 2025 can expect around $1,976 per month. For couples, the average payment is $3,089.

For other Social Security beneficiaries, the average payment is $967 for individuals and $1,450 for couples who file jointly.
