$500 Stimulus check Claim: How to Claim Payment in May and Check Eligibility

Tacoma, Washington, is receiving a $500 stimulus payment to help residents with rising incomes, addressing financial hardships caused by COVID-19.

$500 Stimulus check: The Social Security Administration has announced the resumption of the $500 stimulus check program, which is only available in Tacoma, Washington. This announcement comes amid the expectation of a fourth stimulus check.

Giving low-income residents financial relief is the goal of this one-time payment because they have suffered from rising housing, food, gas, and other necessary costs.

Residents of Tacoma must be at least eighteen years old, have lived in the city for at least six months, have a household income of at least 60% of the area median income, and have faced financial hardship as a result of COVID-19 to be eligible for the $500 stimulus payment.

How to get the stimulus payout of $500

Eligible residents will need to complete an application form, which will be made accessible on the municipal website in the upcoming weeks, to be eligible for the $500 stimulus payment. By July 1, 2025, the application must be printed, signed, and mailed in. Applications that arrive late won’t be approved.

According to Marca, residents must enter their date of birth, phone number, email address (if available), full legal name, and current mailing address when filling out the application.

They must also submit supporting documentation for their eligibility, such as copies of current government-issued identification cards and evidence of their continuous residence in Tacoma for a minimum of 12 months (bank statements, utility bills, etc.).

Residents who are approved should anticipate receiving the $500 one-time stimulus payment in the mail in the form of a check or direct deposit within two to three weeks.

The American Rescue Plan Act, which provided funding to communities for pandemic recovery efforts, is the source of funding for Tacoma’s $500 stimulus check program. An estimated 8,000 homes could benefit from the initiative, giving those who need it most much-needed financial help.

Even though this might not be the fourth stimulus payment that many had hoped for, Tacoma families will surely benefit greatly from it as they deal with the ongoing difficulties brought on by the pandemic and rising costs of living.
