Aldi Plans Major Store Expansion Across U.S. in 2026

Aldi will roll out two major changes in 2026, including a full redesign of its private-label products and a big expansion with new stores across the U.S., including Times Square.

Aldi Store Expansion: Aldi which is the popular supermarket chain loved by many families across the US is getting ready for two huge changes in 2026. The company wants to refresh the look of its store products and also grow faster in many regions. These changes will shape how shoppers see Aldi in the coming years and will also bring the brand into many new neighborhoods.

New Look for Aldi Products

Aldi has always used private label products to keep prices low. More than 90% of the things people buy at Aldi have names made by the store. In 2026, Aldi will start a big rebranding project so that its products all share one strong and easy-to-spot design. The chain plans to put the Aldi logo in a more important place on most product packages, so shoppers can quickly notice which items come directly from Aldi.

Some store brands that people love will not go away. Popular lines like Clancy’s, Simply Nature, Mama Cozzi’s, and Specially Selected will stay on the shelves. But each one will get a small seal that says “An ALDI Original”. Aldi wants this seal to keep the bond with customers who already enjoy these items. At the same time, it helps make everything look more connected to the main Aldi brand.

Aldi also plans to use names that shoppers themselves created. For example, many customers call the Kirkwood Breaded Chicken “Red Bag Chicken.” Aldi will now use that nickname on the package so it feels more familiar. This small change helps Aldi show that it listens to its loyal shoppers.

Big Store Expansion Across the US

The second major change is Aldi’s large expansion into new areas. The company wants to open many new stores in 2026. It will also take over more than 200 old stores that once belonged to chains like Winn-Dixie and Harveys, mostly in the southeastern U.S.

Aldi will also grow in the West with new stores in California, Nevada, and Arizona. One of the biggest surprises is a large Aldi store coming to Times Square. The space will be around 25,000 square feet inside a new city development.

Aldi says this big expansion is happening because more people want lower-cost groceries during a time when the prices of meat, dairy, and other basic foods keep rising.
