California $725 monthly checks: In Sacramento County, some families will start getting extra money every month. The new program is called the Family First Economic Support Pilot, also known as FFESP. This plan gives parents and legal guardians who have kids between 0 to 5 years old a chance to get some steady cash. The payment is $725 every month, and the goal is to help families feel more stable and make life at home a bit easier.

The county will not give this help to everyone though. They chose 200 people at random who live in certain zip codes inside Sacramento. These families are the ones who will join the program. The idea is to give them money they can count on, so they don’t always feel worried about bills or basic needs.
The program will not last forever. Families will get $725 each month for one whole year. The final payment will happen in July 2026. This means families who join the program will have 12 months of support.
To get the money, people can choose how they want to receive it. They can ask for a debit card, or they can open a bank account so the money goes straight there each month. This makes it simple and safe for families to use the money however they need.
