California has introduced $1,200 stimulus payments as part of the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) program, aimed at supporting low and moderate-income households.

These $1,200 checks are a component of the low- and moderate-income households-supporting California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) programme.

CalEITC and eligibility criteria

Refundable tax credits called CalEITC seek to boost working people’s and low-income families’ federal Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC).

Developed to give those in financial difficulty extra assistance, the program meets the needs of the 16.4% of Californians who were impoverished as of 2019.

According to Marca, those who want to be eligible for the $1,200 California Stimulus Checks in 2024 must fulfil certain requirements:

  • Filing Requirements: You had to have submitted your 2020 taxes.
  • Residents must have spent at least half of 2020 in California.
  • Identification: When submitting your taxes, you had to have utilized an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
  • Income Limits: You are only allowed to have an AGI of $75,000.

Working families or people making up to $30,950 a year may also be able to get a CalEITC boost check of up to $3,529 for the tax year 2023.

Scheduled payments are determined by the day you filed your taxes:

  • Payments are anticipated after April 15th for tax filings filed between January 1st and March 1st.
  • Tax returns filed between March 2 and April 23 will be paid out after May 1st.
  • Post-April 23rd filings could take longer to process.

The $1,200 stimulus check can be claimed without a unique application procedure.
