What Food can you buy from CalFresh Cards?

They can buy things like milk, cereal, vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, and even seeds to grow their own food. But they can’t use it to buy hot meals, alcohol, tobacco, or anything that’s not food. Also, they’re not allowed to buy things to eat inside the store.

The money on the EBT card doesn’t come on the same day for everyone. It depends on the last number of the case number each family has. So if the number ends with “6,” then the food money comes on the 6th day of the month.

People can apply for CalWORKs in a few ways. They can go to the social services office in their county, or apply by phone, mail, or fax. Some counties even let you apply online using BenefitsCal.com.
