Chapter 35 VA Benefits: Veterans’ affairs have always been considered one of the most important issues that the American government has tried to address. People who go out of their way to preserve the American way of life are those who deserve the best benefits. These VA Benefits include Chapter 35, a program that assists both veteran survivors and their dependents. A Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA) program is a program designed to assist eligible dependents and spouses of veterans with permanent or totally disabled disabilities who are in need of education and training. A service-related condition or the passing of a veteran while on active duty contributed to this.

Chapter 35 VA Benefits: Who is Eligible?

In order to qualify for Chapter 35 VA Benefits, a veteran, service member or dependent must meet at least one of the following criteria. This eligibility is determined by the number of people permanently or totally disabled due to service-related causes. Additionally, it applies to individuals on active duty who are likely to have either a permanent or total disability upon discharge. The dependents, spouses, or children of service members who have died during active duty or as a result of service-connected causes.

According to the rules, the spuse/dependent or child will be eligible to receive $100 per month and up to $600 per semester or up to $1,200 total for tutor reimbursement expenses. In order to enroll, the spuse or dependent must complete and return paperwork to the VA Regional Processing Office. They may also apply online through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs by filling out VA Form 22-5490.
