Can You Use Your EBT Card on Amazon Prime Day 2025? Here’s What You Should Know

SNAP EBT users can shop for eligible groceries on Amazon during Prime Day 2025 without needing a full Prime membership, but non-food items require a separate payment method like a debit card.

EBT Card on Amazon Prime Day: People who get SNAP EBT benefits can now shop for groceries online through Amazon without needing to pay for a Prime membership. This help comes through a special program called Amazon Access. Amazon created this program to make it easier for low-income families to buy food online, especially during big sales like Prime Day. If you already get SNAP and use your EBT card, you can use it to buy food on Amazon Fresh, Prime Pantry, and Whole Foods online.

This setup is helpful because you don’t have to worry about paying the full price of a regular Prime account. SNAP users can also join Amazon’s Prime Access plan for just $6.99 a month, which is a discount from the regular $14.99 price. With this, they still get all the Prime benefits like fast shipping, deals, and online grocery delivery.

How to Use Your EBT on Amazon?

When you use your EBT card online on Amazon, you can pay for groceries that qualify under the SNAP program. These are marked clearly so shoppers know what is eligible. But if you want to buy things that don’t fall under the food category, like books, toys, or electronics, you need to add another payment method like a debit card, credit card, or even Amazon gift balance. This way, you can split the payment for both grocery and non-grocery items in one order.

Amazon reminds customers to update their EBT details and check if the items still show up as EBT-eligible before Prime Day begins. It’s also smart to check your EBT balance and keep an extra payment method ready just in case you want to shop outside the EBT category.
