E-Bike Stimulus Payment Eligibility: Who can get up to $1000 payment?

Atlanta City and ARC launch e-bike rebate program, providing affordable mobility options for moderate and low-income individuals, with rechargeable electric motors and no license or registration required.

E-Bike Stimulus Payment Eligibility: The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and the City of Atlanta have come up with a creative e-bike rebate program to help people with moderate and low incomes get around for less money.

E-bikes have small electric motors that can be charged and help riders while they pedal. They can go 20 to 50 miles on a single charge.

While E-cargo bikes are made to accommodate additional people or freight due to their longer frames, they do not require a specific license or registration.

$1000 Stimulus Check for E-Bike Program

To reduce carbon emissions, US President Joe Biden has announced that residents who wish to buy an e-bike can receive $1000 in stimulus checks. We cannot ignore the fact that excessive pollution causes us to deal with many problems, including poor air quality. As more Americans become aware of pollution, they are switching to electric vehicles to achieve zero emissions.

The application deadline

The city has invested $1 million in ARC, which is running the program with a strong equity focus. 75% of the rebates are intended for people making at least 80% of the typical household income in the Atlanta region, which is $60,200 for a single person.

Residents of Atlanta have until Sunday, June 23, to enter a lottery for a chance to earn up to $2,000 in e-bike refunds. Applications can be submitted at atlantaregional.org/ebikerebate.

E-Bike Stimulus Payment Eligibility: Who is qualified to receive the money?

Your household income can be refunded up to $1,500 for a basic e-bike and $2,000 for a cargo e-bike if it is at or below 80% of Atlanta’s typical annual income of $54,000. If your salary is higher than this limit, you can get a $1,000 reimbursement for a cargo e-bike or a $500 rebate for a basic e-bike.

Standard e-bikes cost $1,500, and cargo e-bikes cost $2,000 for qualified inhabitants; other residents receive $500 and $1,000, respectively. Rebates are redeemable at participating Atlanta retailers and will be sent out every quarter.

Six thousand people have already expressed interest in the program, so demand for it is expected to be significant. For the campaign, up to 700 e-bike rebates are expected to be given out.

“The Atlanta e-bike rebate program has the potential to bring this advantageous transportation option to residents and working families in Atlanta,” said Councilmember Matt Westmoreland according to Marca.

“As both a city councilman and ARCboard member, I am pleased to champion the use of ebikes and thee-bike rebate program to help people find clean transportation options as our city grows.”
