Extra Food Stamps 2024: Find out when the extra SUN Bucks will be paid this summer

SUN Bucks provides $120 for school-age kids to spend on summer food, ensuring healthy meals during school hours, and free SUN Meals can be obtained nearby.

SUN Bucks: SUN Bucks is a program that gives families with school-age kids $120 for each child to spend on food over the summer. The program’s name might be different depending on where you are. People who get other benefits, like WIC and SNAP, can also use SUN Bucks.

To help families even more over the summer, this extra benefit makes sure that kids can still get healthy food even when school isn’t in session. Kids can still get free SUN Meals at meal places close by or through SUN Meals To Go.

If SUN Bucks are offered in your area, your school-age children will be registered automatically if your household currently receives benefits like SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR.

Extra Social Security Payment July: When is the second payment coming for those eligible?

For kids who qualify for free or low-cost meals and go to schools that offer the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP), they may also be signed up immediately. This automated registration makes it easier for many families to get into the program by getting rid of the need for extra paperwork.

If you were not enrolled automatically, you can apply directly for SUN Bucks. Meeting certain income thresholds is one of the eligibility requirements.

If you must apply, you will be required to supply the name, school, date of birth, home address, and household income of your child. There is no need for a Social Security number or proof of identity. Because we simplified the application process, it will be easier for families to get the benefits they need.

How do I use it?

SUN Bucks can be used to buy a lot of different foods, like fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy goods, breads, cereals, snacks, and drinks that don’t contain alcohol.

Why Does the Social Security Administration Want You to Update Your Account Online?

SUN Bucks, however, cannot be used to buy hot meals, pet food, housekeeping or cleaning products, medications, or things for personal hygiene.

Who can use SUN Bucks?

If your child is in school and your home receives SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF payments, they are eligible for SUN Bucks.

Or if your household income qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals and your child attends a school that offers the NSLP or SBP.
