Extra Social Security Payment July: When is the second payment coming for those eligible?

The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payout schedule allows eligible users to receive two checks per month, with payments made on the second Wednesday of each month.

Extra Social Security Payment July: There are certain peculiarities in the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payout schedule. Owing to payment procedures of the Social Security Administration (SSA), eligible users may get two checks in a given month. Find out if you will get paid twice in July by reading on.

Under the staggered payment plan that the SSA implemented in 1997, the recipient’s payment date is based on their birthdate. Payment is made on the second Wednesday of each month to recipients who were born between the first and the tenth of that month.

The third Wednesday is when beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th get their deposit, and the fourth Wednesday is when beneficiaries born between the 21st and the 31st get their money.

COLA Increase 2025 Projection: Social Security COLA for 2025 Lowered to 2.7%

This payment schedule states that beneficiaries who were born between the eleventh and twentieth of any given month would get their money on Wednesday, July 17.

On the other hand, your payment date is different and you can get paid twice if you were registered with SSDI before May 1997 or if you get Supplemental Security Income.

Extra Social Security Payment July: Who is eligible?

According to SSA payment policies, payments can only be made on business days. The deposit is moved to the prior business day if a payment date falls on a weekend or holiday.

On the first of every month, SSDI beneficiaries who have been enrolled in the program since before May 1997, as well as those receiving SSI, get their Social Security benefits. For this reason, occasionally they get two checks in a single month.

Social Security Card Changes Marriage: How to Inform about your Marriage and Why It’s Important

One of those occasions was this past May. The first check was sent to eligible beneficiaries at the beginning of the month, but because July 1 came on a Saturday, their payment was delayed until Friday, May 31. Since their next payment was not received until Monday, July 1, this does not imply that they received two payments.

Since August 1 falls on a Monday, something similar will occur in August. However, September 1 falls on a Sunday. The September payment will be advanced to Friday, August 30 by the SSA in this manner.
