Workers without tips will earn at least $14 per hour starting September 30. This extra money helps workers pay for rent, food, transport, and other expenses that have been rising because of inflation.

Why Florida is Increasing the Minimum Wage?

The state increases the wage every year for a few reasons.

  • It follows the law to move closer to the $15 target.
  • with prices going up $13 an hour is no longer enough for many workers to cover basic needs.

The increase helps people who rely on tips, making sure their pay is fair even if tips are low. The gradual increase ensures workers are protected and can keep up with rising living costs.

What Employees and Employers Should do

Workers should check their pay stubs after September 30 to make sure the new minimum wage is being applied.

Tipped workers should check that their boss shows base pay and tips separate. Bosses gotta fix payroll and put up new wage posters. This raise helps workers get fair pay and live better.
