Texas Food Stamps Recertification: Don’t Miss Out on SNAP Benefits & File for Recertification

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) says that households that lose food bought with SNAP benefits during a power outage that lasts four hours or more can ask for replacement benefits. The amount of money they get back can be up to the value of the food they lost, but it can’t be more than their monthly budget.

Households that lost power must fill out JFS Form 07222 and send it to their county’s JFS office within ten days in order to get new benefits. Before taking care of the new request, the department will check how long the outage lasted.
