Sacramento $725 Cash Help: How and When You’ll Know If You Got Selected?

People in Sacramento, California are benefiting from a program called Sacramento Family First (FFESP), providing monthly cash assistance to help them pay for basic needs during high inflation.

Sacramento $725 Cash Help: Sacramento County has started a new program called the Sacramento Family First (FFESP) pilot program to help families who don’t have a lot of money. This program gives $725 every month to help families with the cost of things like food, rent, and taking care of their kids. It comes at a time when prices are getting really high, and many people are finding it hard to pay for even basic needs.

Many families across the country are feeling stressed because everything costs more these days. Inflation has made it really hard for families to buy things they need like groceries, pay for housing, and pay for child care.

The state of California wanted to find a way to keep helping low-income families, especially after seeing how much help people needed during the Covid-19 pandemic when the government sent out stimulus checks.

Even though most of those pandemic payments are gone now, Sacramento decided to keep helping families by starting this program. FFESP is now a big part of a larger plan to make sure children grow up in healthy and safe homes.

How Are Families Selected?

The California Department of Social Services shared important dates for the Family First program. Families who wanted to join the program had to apply online at ffesp.org. Applications opened on April 14 and stayed open until late on Sunday, April 27. After that, the applications closed.

The next step is that between April and May, workers will randomly pick 200 families who applied. Those lucky families will start getting their $725 payments around the middle of June. Families who get chosen will hear from the FFESP team through email, phone calls, and text messages. The messages will start going out during the week of May 5, 2025.

On their website, FFESP says, “FFESP staff will contact selected applicants to inform them of their acceptance by email, phone and text message from the week of May 5, 2025. If FFESP staff contact you, it is important that you respond before the deadline.” Families who get the message need to answer back quickly. If they don’t reply before the deadline, their spot might be given to someone else who applied.

The program also said that if you don’t get any message from FFESP by June 6, that means you were not selected this time. They want everyone to know that responding fast is really important so no one misses their chance.
