They receive their benefits on a different date depending on their state or territory of residence.

SNAP Benefits Payment May 2024: In May, SNAP recipients across the country can expect to receive their benefits.

They receive their benefits on a different date depending on their state or territory of residence.

As the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), SNAP helps low- and no-income families afford essential groceries.

The federal government allocates the funds, but each state has its own set of regulations regarding payment distribution, resulting in a variety of payment schedules across the country.

Alabama, for instance, determines payment dates based on case numbers. Those with case numbers ending in 01 receive their benefits earlier in the month than those with case numbers ending in 99.

As with Social Security payments, Utah distributes benefits based on the first letter of a recipient’s last name. States with a smaller population, however, like Vermont and Rhode Island, distribute all SNAP payments simultaneously.
