The Florida Department of Children and Families Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS) oversees the program. States can personalize certain components, but federal criteria govern eligibility and benefits.

Qualification standards

The absence of certain conditions, such as being a non-citizen, having a drug trafficking conviction, having a felony warrant, breaking program rules, or being a college student, is one of the eligibility requirements that recipients must fulfill.
