Social Security Account Update: The Social Security Administration (SSA) is updating its online services to improve security and the user experience. If you created your “My Social Security” account before September 18, 2021, you’ll need to transition to a Login.gov account to continue accessing your services.

Both recipients and those who are not yet receiving benefits can access services, including managing existing benefits, seeking replacement Social Security cards, predicting future payments, and checking the status of benefit applications using the online “my Social Security” accounts.

COLA Increase 2025 Projection: Social Security COLA for 2025 Lowered to 2.7%

The Social Security Administration, which is struggling with lengthy wait times for its national 800 phone number, hopes that the online services will save time for both present and future recipients. The Social Security Administration notes that the average response time to such calls in the second quarter was about 36 minutes. The corporation wants the average waiting time by September 2025 to be just 12 minutes.
