Social Security Income December: As November comes to a close, people who get Social Security Income (SSI) are looking forward to their December payment.
Most SSI payouts are made on the same day every month, but weekends and bank holidays can cause them to vary.
People who get payments should keep an eye on the exact date of payment for November, as it may be a little different from past months.
Disability payouts from Social Security are made on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of every month. The date of the payment is based on the person’s birth date.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) put in place the following plan in May 1997:
- People born between January 1 and October 10 get paid every second Wednesday.
- People born between November 11 and October 20 get paid on the third Wednesday of every month.
- Fourth Wednesday: People born between the 21st and 31st of the month get paid.
- If you started getting benefits before May 1997, you get them on the third of every month.

When does next month’s SSA payment will arrive?
- In December 2023, this means that payment dates are:
- Wednesday, December 13: For people born on December 1 through December 10.
- December 20: For people born between December 11 and December 20.
- December 27: For people born after December 20.
Extra money in December
People who get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) also get their January 2024 payment on December 29, since January 1, 2024, is a holiday.
SSI payments are usually made on the first of each month. Because of this, there will be two payments in December (2024; December 1 and December 29) and no payment in January.
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits are deposited directly into bank accounts. Employees are eligible for these benefits based on their job history.
People with different birth dates can get benefits in the same way and quickly with the staggered payment plan.
