Social Security Payments: The Social Security Administration (SSA) will send out the last round of Social Security payments for March 2025 tomorrow. Millions of people will receive their checks, but some won’t. Whether someone gets a payment on March 26 depends on their birth date and the type of benefits they receive. The SSA follows a strict schedule for sending out these payments.
Who Will Not Get a Payment on March 26?
Many Social Security beneficiaries have already received their March payments, so they will not get another one on March 26. The SSA sends out payments based on a person’s birthday and benefit status.
$2000 Social Security Checks on March 26: Are You Getting One?
Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 20th of any month:
- People who were born between the 1st and the 20th of any month already got their checks earlier in March.
- Those born between the 1st and the 10th received their payment on March 12
- Those born between the 11th and 20th got theirs on March 19.
- Since they have already been paid, they won’t get a check on March 26.
Pre-May 1997 beneficiaries or those receiving both SSI and Social Security
People who have been receiving Social Security benefits since before May 1997 or who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) also won’t get a check on March 26. The SSA deposits payments for this group on the 3rd of every month. In March 2025, that payment was made on March 3. Because they were already paid earlier in the month, they will not receive anything on March 26.
SSI-only recipients
SSI-only recipients won’t be getting a payment on March 26 either. The SSA always pays SSI benefits on the 1st of the month. Since March 1 falls on a Saturday in 2025, SSI payments were sent out on February 28. This means that people who only receive SSI do not follow the Wednesday payment schedule and won’t get a check on March 26.
Non-eligible or suspended beneficiaries
Some individuals won’t get a payment at all because their benefits have been suspended. If Social Security has stopped payments due to overpayment recovery, identity verification problems, or ineligibility under new rules, those people won’t get a check on any date. For example, under a proposed rule, payments may not be sent to individuals without Social Security numbers. People in these situations won’t receive benefits again until the SSA resolves their issues.

Who Will Get a Check on March 26?
People born between the 21st and 31st of any month who started receiving Social Security benefits after May 1997 are scheduled to get their payment on the fourth Wednesday of the month. In March 2025, the fourth Wednesday falls on March 26, so this group will receive their checks on that date.
If someone is supposed to get a payment on March 26 but does not receive it, the SSA advises waiting three business days before reaching out. If the check still hasn’t arrived, they can call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 for help.
