Social Security Payments June 2025: When Will the Remaining Checks Arrive?

Social Security payments for June 2025 have started, but many checks are still scheduled. Depending on your birth date, you may receive your payment on June 18 or June 25.

Social Security Payments June: Social Security payments for June 2025 have already started coming in, and this time, the payments are arriving earlier than usual. The Social Security Administration made changes to the schedule because of delays that happened in May.

Most people who get Social Security every month will see their payments on a Wednesday, depending on when their birthday falls. Those born between the 1st and the 10th are getting paid on Wednesday, June 11. People with birthdays between the 11th and 20th will receive theirs on June 18. Anyone born after the 20th will get their money on June 25.

Social Security Fairness Act benefit increases have been processed to 91% of people: Have You Received Yours?

But not everyone follows this schedule. People who started receiving their benefits before May 1997 are paid on a fixed date every month, no matter what day it is. For June, they already received their check on Tuesday, June 3. These older recipients have been in the system a long time, and their payments come on the 3rd each month as usual.

No SSI Checks in June

There’s also another group that follows a different plan people who get Supplemental Security Income, or SSI. These people won’t get any money in June. That might sound scary at first, but there’s a good reason. Back in May they received two payments instead of one. This happens sometimes when the first of the next month falls on a weekend or holiday. So the Social Security Administration sent out the June payment early, during May, to make sure no one misses anything.

The agency also says that most payments now go directly to people’s bank accounts or debit cards. In fact, 99% of all payments are sent electronically now, which helps prevent delays. But if someone is still waiting for their money by mail, they should wait about three more days before calling the SSA for help.

SSA Moves to Modern Payments

The government is also working hard to modernize how people get their Social Security money. They are slowly moving away from sending paper checks and are using direct deposits and prepaid debit cards instead. This new system is safer and faster, and it helps the agency avoid fraud and mistakes. It also makes it easier for people to get their money without waiting too long.
