Social Security Reshuffles: The Social Security Administration has shaken up its leadership team in an effort to give people better service and hold its leaders more accountable. The agency shared the news on Wednesday, saying the changes are part of a plan to make the system run smoother for millions of Americans who depend on it every day.
New leaders take charge
The reshuffle brings new faces into big roles. Chad Poist is now the chief of staff and also the chief risk officer. Karen Glenn has taken the role of chief actuary. Nicholas Perrine will handle communication as the new chief communications officer. Jay Ortis has stepped in as acting chief of disability adjudication, while Andy Sriubas is the chief of field operations.

The agency explained that operations will now be split into three main parts Field Operations, Processing Center, and Digital Service. This move is meant to push leadership closer to the people working on the ground and make the system more efficient.
SSA also said it will bring together all its security functions into one group. This group will manage information security, physical and protective security, as well as personnel security and suitability programs.

SSA commissioner Frank J. Bisignano pointed out that changes are already showing results. He noted that wait times on the national 800 number dropped from 30 minutes to single digits. He also said field office wait times have gone down by 30% and that people now have access to the Social Security online portal all day, every day.
