SSDI Payment October: This week is great news for millions of Americans who depend on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). On Wednesday, October 9, some beneficiaries will see payments in their bank accounts, so mark your calendars. Here’s what you need to know about this important payment and whether you can expect more funds soon.

SSDI payments are sent out based on your birthdate. They are paid on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month. If you’re waiting for your October payment, here’s how the schedule works:

  • Birthdays between the 1st and 10th: Payments on the second Wednesday of the month.
  • Birthdays between the 11th and 20th: Payments on the third Wednesday.
  • Birthdays between the 21st and 31st: Payments on the fourth Wednesday.

It is therefore your fortunate day on Wednesday, October 9, if your birthday falls between the first and the tenth of any given month! You will soon receive your SSDI payment, so make sure to check your bank account. If you belong to any other birthday category, however, don’t worry; your payments will arrive soon. The remaining payouts are scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, and Wednesday, October 23.

SSDI Payment October: Additional days for payment

If you belong to a different payment category, like those who started getting benefits before May 1997 or those who also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you will receive your SSDI payments on the third of each month. Your SSI payments usually come on the first.

What should you do if you don’t get your payment?

While delays are uncommon, they can happen. The Social Security Administration (SSA) advises you to wait three business days before taking action. If your payment is still missing after that, first check with your bank. If it’s not there, you can call, email, or visit a local SSA office to talk to someone.

Just remember, October 9 is only the first round of SSDI payments for the month! Keep an eye on your account to ensure you receive the full amount you’re owed!
