SSDI Payment May 2024
SSDI Payment September: A significant date is approaching for many Americans relying on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. Wednesday, September 11, holds particular importance for some beneficiaries who are expecting their payments.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has been distributing SSDI benefits in stages each month since 1997. This phased system, based on recipients’ birth dates, allows the SSA to effectively handle payments for the 7.4 million individuals who depend on SSDI. This method helps ensure the smooth distribution of funds across the large pool of beneficiaries.

The SSA says to wait three business days before taking any further action if your payment doesn’t arrive by the due date. After that, call your bank to see if there are any delays. Ask the SSA for help by phone, online, or in person at your local office if the bank says there are no problems but you still haven’t received your payment.
For individuals who began receiving SSDI benefits before May 1997 or who also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the payment schedule is slightly different. They get their SSI benefits on the first of the month and their SSDI benefits on the third.
For everyone else, your payments are coming soon! The next SSDI deposit dates are September 18 and September 25. Be sure to check your account and stay informed.
