SSI Payment Schedule October: When to Expect Your SSI and SSDI Deposits

US Social Security payments in October, including Supplemental Security Income and SSDI, are crucial for timely money management, with deposit dates based on birthdays.

SSI Payment Schedule October: A lot of people in the US are looking forward to their next Social Security payment, which will be coming in October. For people who get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), knowing the deposit date is important to make sure they can get their money on time.

SSI payments are usually made on the first of the month, while SSDI payments are usually based on the person’s birthday. Keeping track of these payment dates for October can help people plan their money better.

SSI Payment Schedule October 2024

A few important variables, including when you started receiving benefits and your date of birth, will determine the precise date of payments.

SSI Savings: How Much Money Can You Have in the Bank Without Losing Benefits?

Every month, payments are made by the SSA according to a well-defined process. When will your SSDI and SSI arrive in October?

SSDI payments begin on the second Wednesday of each month and are based on the day of the month the recipient was born for the majority of recipients.

Depending on your birth date range, one of the next two Wednesdays is when your payment is due.

  • SSI: Deposits will be made on Monday, October 1.

SSDI payment schedule:

  • October 3: If you’ve been receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997.
  • October 9: If your birth date falls between the 1st and 10th of the month.
  • October 16: If your birth date is between the 11th and 20th of the month.
  • October 23: If your birth date is between the 21st and 31st of the month.

It is likely that you will get your payment on the third of every month if you got Social Security benefits before May 1997 or if you get both Social Security and SSI.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) says that you shouldn’t do anything right away if you don’t get your payment by the due date. You should instead wait an extra three mailing days. After that, you can get help by calling the SSA’s toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213.

SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act: What you need to know

When you call, early in the morning, late in the week, or near the end of the month, you can avoid long wait times. The SSA’s online office locator can help you find help in person if you can’t get through to the national line.

What Separates SSDI from SSI?

Both SSDI and SSI give important financial help, but they pay out at different times.

Adults and children living below the poverty line can get help from the federal program Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Every SSI payment is due on the first of the month, but if that date is a holiday or weekend, it is paid on the next business day.

SSDI, on the other hand, gives monthly payments to disabled people or people who have reached retirement age and can’t make a good living.

Depending on the person’s date of birth, SSDI benefits are paid out on certain Wednesdays every month.
