State Stimulus Payment: In 2024, CO taxpayers who qualify will each get a $800 TABOR refund, and couples filing jointly will get $1,600. The money that was received above the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) limit was used to figure out this refund. But, even though there are big refunds available, many people haven’t claimed theirs yet as tax season comes to a close.

How do I file for TABOR refund?

It’s easy to apply for the Colorado TABOR Refund. To get the form, go to the website of the Colorado Department of Revenue, fill it out with the necessary information, attach any necessary papers, and make sure all the information is correct before sending it in. April 15, 2024, is the last day to file.

According to Marca, people must file a Colorado individual income tax return in 2023 or apply for a Personal Tax Credit by April 15, 2024, in order to get the 2024 TABOR refund.

People must have lived in Colorado for at least half of the tax year 2023 and be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2024.

Also, they can’t owe any Colorado income taxes or want to have any of their wages withheld. They also can’t have been committed to the Department of Human Services or spent 180 days or more in jail during the state’s fiscal year, which runs from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
