State Stimulus Payment: Which States are Sending CTC Payments? Check Out the List

In 2024, 16 states will offer extra child tax credits, with eligibility requirements and credit limits varying by state.

State Stimulus Payment: Sixteen states will have supplementary child tax credits, including credits for young children; state-specific eligibility criteria and credit limits will apply. Families in Arizona qualify for an extra $25 for individuals above the age of 17 and a nonrefundable $100 credit for dependents under the age of 17.

California offers credit up to $1,000 for families making less than $25,000; households between $25,000 and $30,000 get lower credit. Children under six can claim the California Earned Income Tax Credit if the family qualifies for it.

For children under six, Colorado offers up to $1,200 per child for families making $75,000 or less ($85,000 for married couples filing jointly).

Regarding Idaho, each child under 16 is eligible for a $205 nonrefundable credit. Maine residents who qualify for the dependent exemption tax credit can claim up to $300 for each eligible child and dependent. In Maryland, a $500 refundable credit is available to households making $6,000 or less for each child under the age of 17.

State Stimulus Payment: Other states that provide Benefits

Massachusetts offers $180 for a single dependent under 12 or $360 for several. Minnesota provides $1,750 per kid; however, the credit phases out for filers who earn more than $29,500 for single filers and more than $35,000 for joint filers.

Under New Jersey’s Kid Tax Credit Program, families making up to $30,000 or less can receive a refundable $500 credit for each kid under six, while households making up to $80,000 can receive a $300 credit.

Until the 2031 tax year, families in New Mexico may get up to $600 per kid, depending on their income. In New York, qualifying families can claim either $100 for each qualifying kid or 33% of the federal child tax credit plus federal supplementary child tax credit. The state has expanded its benefits to include children under the age of four.

Oklahoma provides a 5% federal child tax credit benefit to households earning less than $100,000. For every child under five, families in Oregon making less than $30,000 can get $1,000. For each kid between the ages of one and four, Utah offers qualifying households $1,000. The amount decreases by $10 for each $1 over a certain level of income.

Vermont provides $1,000 for each child under five who lives in a home earning less than $125,000. With the new measure from Wisconsin, families can get anywhere from $2,000 to $3,500 for one qualifying dependent and from $4,000 to $7,000 for two or more.
